Special Moments
We would like to congratulate one of our educators Sammy Grant.  Sammy has been very busy over the last month and we would like to share with you some of her accomplishments.

Sammy entered the nail companions at Excel last month.  She put two entry’s in for photographic Classic and Photographic Nail Art.  Well I’m very pleased to announce she came first for her entry for Classic and second for her Nail Art entry.  This was not Sammy’s only accomplishment, Sammy’s salon was also voted for Nail Salon of the Year 2013.  Sammy the Team and I would like to congratulate you for all your accomplishments.  Well done x

I asked Sammy if she could share some of her experience with you for when she attended London fashion week.  Even with a busy schedule she was even happier to help.

Well the past year my career as a Nail Artist has had many highlights and special moments. But one of the most recent events I attended was London Fashion week, getting to tame the talons of supermodels was definitely a new experience for me. Covering twenty one shows in three days was intense but I loved every minute of it, I have always watched and followed the shows but to be backstage and being apart of it all was just something else. Each show had between 8 and 28 models each having a bespoke look created by the designer and Lead Artist. If you can imagine over sixty people crammed into a tiny room with hair dryers blasting its a pretty crazy environment. Working for the majority of the time on my knees tucked under chairs and tables whilst Make-up artists and stylists are pulling at the model getting the perfect crisp, clean, finish was sometimes very difficult. I had to deal with a lot of smudged nails and models who don't take the best care of their hands, I always though that models would have perfectly groomed hands and nails but how wrong can you be? As it turns out very. But on a whole if you ever get the chance to be involved in London Fashion Week I would say its a definite must. Truly something I will never forget and I got to work with such a great team. “

Be Creative Artisan - Introducing…….Ute Johnson

I would like to introduce you to one of our very colourful educators Ute Johnson, Be Creative Artisan for Northumberland.

Ute has been a nail technician since 1991; she has worked hard within the beauty sector and gained a wealth of experience. Ute has attended loads of classes and now wants to share her knowledge with you.  Doing nails is still her favourite job.
When Ute learnt about Sam Biddle´s idea of delivering classes for all nail technicians that work alongside all brands, she was fascinated.  In the past, Ute had only attended classes which had been brand lead; all that was taught during the class could only be done with that brand.
Ute explains Sam Biddle classes can be delivered totally free from any brand so that is why I love it - it works with gel as well with acrylic of all brands.  Can you imagine! Isn´t that great!  That’s truly a really innovative concept, I love to help spreading the love of being creative and being a be
creative artisan. Proud and creative! Here we go!

Utes Top Tips:

The chameleon pigments are amazing, they have hidden effects, covering the whole palette from lovely to dramatic- just stunning!
I love to use them for hidden depth effects as well as for highlights and accents in my nail art - the possibilities are just endless!
Give it a try and become creative with be creative!

Ute loves the Gel Paints too.

Check out Utes training date from the tab at the top.  She has plenty of training locations throughout Northumberland.
Hope you’re enjoying our posts, we having a great time spreading the Be Creative love.  Join us next week when we will share some more of our Be Creative Moments

Welcome to Be Creative

Be Creative is the brainchild of Sam Biddle and Rebecca Orme. In 2011 Sam’s Be Inspired product range was growing at such a fast rate. Sam’s first love was educating and she needed a little help. Over a nightcap one night Sam Biddle and Rebecca Orme (who she had worked with for a long time) began formulating a plan. Three Months later they launched Jealous Cow Ltd –Parent company of the Be Creative Range. Sam could continue to develop exciting new products and educate worldwide. Rebecca would look after the worldwide Distributors and Educators, and much more...
Be Creative has now grown. With distributors and educators in Australia, USA, Ireland, Asia and a strong team of 15 in the UK.
We are very proud of our UK educators. Each one of them has bought a unique personality to the team. Over the coming months we would like give you a little insight into exciting working life of each educator, their classes and their favourite Be Creative Product.
Check out your nearest educator by locating the Educator Page. Check out our Training Date Page too.

Be Creative Artisan:

We have an elite group of artisan educators in each corner of the land, ready to spread the Be Creative wisdom and teach you all of Sam’s secrets to creating that salon nail to help your business rise above the competition. Each month we will be highlighting an artisan in your area and they will bring you their own top tips, ideas on marketing, steps and much more.

I would like to introduce myself, Cheryl Ogden Be Creative Artisan for Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire. I am also the editor of this site, so I will be spreading the love of Be Creative.

I’ve been in the Nail Industry now for 18 years now, educating for 7 years. I fell in love with Be Creative in its infancy. I’ve been very lucky to work with both Sam and Rebecca for a many years now. They are both very inspiring and it’s been great to work so close to them both.

If I say I love these products it would be an understatement. I’m not even sure I would be able to tell you which product I like the best, they are all great. I started working with the Gel Paints first WOW I love them, you can do so much with them. They are extremely easy to use and very forgiving. Colours blend easily; you can keep blending them till you achieve the desired effect you want. You can correct your mistakes simply using your detail brush and a little gel cleanser; just brush your mistake away. Once you like what you have achieved pop your hand under the lamp.

This Pegasus design was created using the Gel Paints.

Cheryl’s Top tips:

Be Creative Pigments: These Pigments are very versatile you can use them in Acrylic, Gel and Water; you only need a little bit. Each colour can be mixed to make further colours. Take a look at this step by step I created. To see further step by steps I created check out my Facebook at http://www.facebook.com/cheryl.ogden.142?ref=tn_tnmn

The Velvet Manicure

The Velvet Manicure

was brought to the nail industry at the beginning of the year by Be Creative, and fired up the imagination of the nail industry and nail technicians all over the world. From inky black to hot pink, the range of colours are ever growing. But this winter we have seen another great innovation, combining a delicate glitter to the velvet manicure Sam & Rebecca have once again taken this trend and taken it one step further.  the stark contrast of the glitter against the matte finish is mesmerising.

Simply applied, either on a polish top coat or combined with a gel polish, this is a fabulous add on to your salon menu.
Check out this great film on how to apply this manicure.

Step by step using Nail Art Pen

Using the Nail art pen, this step by step is a great way of producing some fabulous nail art quickly.
